Edexcel A Level Chemistry 9CH0 Past Papers with Mark Schemes

Every Pearson Edexcel GCE A Level Chemistry (9CH0) paper in the collection, organised by session and paper. Choose a paper to see every session, or open one session’s question paper and mark scheme directly. Timed practice on full papers, marked line by line against the mark scheme, is the most reliable way to find what still needs work before the exam.

Choose a session

Summer 2017 to Summer 2025, plus the October 2020 and November 2021 series.

Step 2

Prefer Practice by Topic?

Full papers are best for timing and exam technique. For one weak topic at a time, use the A Level topic-wise resources or the resource search. Other boards and qualifications are on the full list of past papers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Edexcel A Level Chemistry past papers are here?

Pearson Edexcel GCE A Level Chemistry (9CH0) question papers and mark schemes from Summer 2017 to Summer 2025, plus the October 2020 and November 2021 series, wherever the collection has them. A paper whose question paper or mark scheme is missing says so on its own page.

What are Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3?

As printed on the papers: Paper 1 is Advanced Inorganic and Physical Chemistry, Paper 2 is Advanced Organic and Physical Chemistry and Paper 3 is General and Practical Principles in Chemistry. Papers 1 and 2 allow 1 hour 45 minutes and Paper 3 allows 2 hours 30 minutes.

Is this the Edexcel International A Level?

No. These are the UK GCE papers: 9CH0 for A Level and 8CH0 for AS Level. Edexcel’s International A Level has different papers and codes, and is not on the site yet.

Where are the AS Level papers?

AS Level Chemistry has its own code, 8CH0, and its own past papers page on this site.

Why do some sessions show only a mark scheme or only a question paper?

Not every file for every session is in the collection. The paper page says plainly which file is missing instead of leaving a dead link. Summer 2020, for example, has question papers only.

Why is there a short wait before a paper opens?

Papers are free to use. The short countdown before each file opens helps keep the site running while the files load.
