Prefer Practice by Topic?

Full papers are best for timing and exam technique. For one weak topic at a time, use the GCSE topic-wise resources or the resource search. Other boards and qualifications are on the full list of past papers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which AQA GCSE Chemistry past papers are here?

Specification 8462 papers from the June 2018, June 2019, June 2020, June 2021, June 2022, June 2023, June 2024 and June 2025 series, plus the 2018 specimen papers. Each paper is listed with its question paper and mark scheme wherever both are in the collection.

What is the difference between Foundation and Higher tier?

AQA GCSE Chemistry is tiered: Foundation papers (8462/1F and 8462/2F) are aimed at grades 1 to 5 and Higher papers (8462/1H and 8462/2H) at grades 4 to 9. Both tiers sit the same two papers, so a student should practise the tier they will actually be entered for.

What do Paper 1 and Paper 2 cover?

Paper 1 assesses topics 1 to 5 of the specification and Paper 2 assesses topics 6 to 10. The papers are separate written exams of equal weight, so most students practise both.

Why are the 2020 and 2021 papers listed under June?

The papers themselves carry the references Jun20 and Jun21 on every page, so they are listed under the June 2020 and June 2021 series, exactly as AQA printed them.

Why is there a short wait before a paper opens?

Papers are free to use. The short countdown before each file opens helps keep the site running while the files load.
