Online OCR Chemistry Tutor
One-to-one and small-group online Chemistry lessons for OCR GCSE and A Level students, built around OCR's own specification and paper style at each level.
This is an independent Chemistry tuition and resource site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a representative of OCR (Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Examinations).

Online OCR Chemistry Tuition
OCR's specification wording, command words and paper structure are its own — lessons are planned around that directly, rather than a general Chemistry syllabus applied to OCR papers afterwards.
OCR GCSE Chemistry
Topic-based learning means each session tackles one part of the OCR GCSE specification at a time, with worksheets and topical questions to match straight afterwards rather than a disconnected past paper. MCQs let a student check understanding quickly between sessions, and mark schemes for the longer questions set out exactly what OCR expects a full-mark answer to include.
OCR GCSE Chemistry resources →OCR A Level Chemistry
A Level steps up in depth — organic mechanisms explained rather than memorised, inorganic trends applied to questions that don't repeat a familiar pattern, and calculations that build on several earlier topics at once. Worksheets, topical questions, MCQs and mark schemes are organised specifically for OCR's A Level content, not carried over from GCSE at a higher difficulty.
OCR A Level Chemistry resources →The OCR A Level Chemistry A (H432) Specification
OCR's A Level Chemistry A is a linear qualification (specification code H432) — everything studied across both years is examined at the end, with no AS-year marks carried forward. The content is organised into six teaching modules:
Module 1
Development of practical skills in chemistry
Module 2
Foundations in chemistry
Module 3
Periodic table and energy
Module 4
Core organic chemistry
Module 5
Physical chemistry and transition elements
Module 6
Organic chemistry and analysis
These six modules are drawn together into three exam papers, each pulling from a different combination of modules rather than testing one module per paper:
| Paper | Covers | Weighting |
|---|---|---|
| 1 — Periodic Table, Elements and Physical Chemistry | Modules 1, 2, 3, 5 | 37% |
| 2 — Synthesis and Analytical Techniques | Modules 1, 2, 4, 6 | 37% |
| 3 — Unified Chemistry | All six modules (synoptic) | 26% |
Alongside the three written papers, practical skills are assessed separately through the Practical Endorsement — a non-exam, pass/fail component built from a set of required Practical Activity Groups (PAGs) completed across the course, reported separately from the overall A Level grade rather than contributing marks to it.
This is a summary to help with planning lessons around what's actually examined — the official OCR Chemistry A (H432) specification page has the full, authoritative detail and the downloadable specification document.
Exam Practice
Exam practice is part of every lesson rather than saved for the weeks before the exam, and it looks different at GCSE than at A Level, since OCR examines the two very differently. None of this guarantees a particular grade — it's preparation, not a promise.
About Naeem Bukhari
Naeem Bukhari teaches OCR Chemistry online across both GCSE and A Level, with lessons built around OCR's own specification rather than a generic Chemistry course — topic-based teaching first, then worksheets, topical questions, MCQs and exam practice built on top of it.
How Online OCR Chemistry Lessons Work
Step 1
Message on WhatsApp
Get in touch to arrange a free OCR Chemistry demo lesson.
Step 2
Free demo lesson
The demo covers the student's current OCR GCSE or A Level topics and where they're finding things hardest.
Step 3
Regular sessions
Lessons are scheduled around the student's own timetable.
Step 4
Concept, then practice
Each session builds the concept properly before moving into worksheet or exam-style practice.
Free Chemistry Resources
Alongside lessons, the full Chemistry resources library covers every board this site teaches, not just OCR.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this an official OCR website?
No. This is an independent Chemistry tuition and resource site — it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a representative of OCR (Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Examinations).
Do you teach both OCR GCSE and A Level Chemistry?
Yes — as two separate courses, each built around what that specific level actually examines.
Is OCR Chemistry different from AQA or Edexcel Chemistry?
Yes — OCR sets its own specification and question style, distinct from AQA or Edexcel. Each board is covered separately on this site rather than treated as interchangeable.
Are online OCR Chemistry lessons one-to-one?
Lessons are available one-to-one or in small groups, depending on what suits the student.
Do you provide OCR Chemistry practice questions?
Topic-wise worksheets, theory questions, MCQs and mark schemes for both OCR GCSE and A Level Chemistry are being added — see the resources linked below for what’s available so far.
